The Glass Urchin

Tue Dec 16, 2008, 10:01 PM
I realize I've been back on dA for a couple of months now, and I haven't really mentioned The Glass Urchin. It's not really my opus or anything, but it marks a huge step for me as a person and as an artist - it's the first time I've truly done a comic, and I'm 50 pages (an oral surgery, a new job, a new apartment, and very little free time) in and I still haven't missed an update day. Yes, I am still surprised at this fact. And the comic is teaching me a lot in return - basically how to get things done faster, but I'm also learning how to better my art. At least I hope there's some discernible improvements over the course of the comic.

Anyway, please take a look at it. It's nothing epic, it's not a fantasy about faraway lands and amazing creatures, or a hero or space or zombies. Well okay, maybe there will be a little zombie involvement. But it's my story, and I hope it bring you a little chuckle or interesting thought. I'll be continuing to upload more pages, past and present, as time permits, but do check it out in it's original format, updating Tues & Thurs, here:

Super Barracuda! - Calling all Artists!

Sat Sep 27, 2008, 5:44 PM
Calling all artists!!

Super Barracuda! is a collaborative webcomic series, headed by myself, about the current election going on in our fair (and fairly confused) country. There’s been a lot of stuff happening now in the last leg of the journey, and the news is just so fantastic, it’s hard to believe sometimes. At least, we think a lot of it’s scary, but in an entertaining way. I’d love to get the word out more on the politicians involved and kind of cut through the lies, and I want to do it in a fun, truthful, and appealing way. And, okay, we admit it- we on the staff are all for Obama! But that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t like some intuitive comics from the other side of the fence, so please all you Republican webcomickers out there, do send away! We’re hoping to let this grow into a great webcomic community. And that’s pretty much the premise of Super Barracuda!

We’ve been continuously updating since we've started with new issues and old, spotlights on the politicians and opinions. All of the comics will be based in truth (although we've been receiving more opinions and other insights) and will have citations so that you, the reader, can easily get all the information you need. Learn more! Make your decision! Vote on November 4th, 2008!

An Update Appears from Afar!

Thu Sep 18, 2008, 10:09 PM
Hello all... Here I am at a rebirth in my DevArt, mostly brought about by the fact that, since I've started my webcomic this past July, I've been looking for some kind of art community. In these past four years since I didn't update my devArt, the art did not leave me, but I surely left the community. But now I'm back!

Most of my stuff will be related to my comic, The Glass Urchin, but expect a lot of neat things to go up here. Don't forget to check out my website, here:

YAR!

Wow! I got an upgrade to the real devArt from a friend! I'm at work trying to figure out this things TRUE potential... If it has one. Will attempt to make a poll soon as well. Yay, I feel like I'm almost one of the important people.... almost. Anyone want to tell me how an upgrade to premium can change my life?
Well Onna! wasn't the best but I'm happy I sold some stuff. Other people there seemed to be doing the same as ~atara n' myself so I am happy. I sold my kappa pice, my sirius x remus, and the ever popular plastic wings.
Right now I've started working on a short comic that I hope I can finish sometime soon. It's a small idea but I really want to make it look neat and professional. In other words it's going to take me ages to finish.
Note to self: must add a poll or something...
ps lacuna8 will be updated... someday.

it's good to be an onna

Ok well folks, It'll soon be the first time I'm going to attend a convention from the other side, this time I'm going to Onna! (www.onnafest.com) for working in the art alley! Yay! I'll be going with *atara, and we set up a new art group called Lacuna 8 (look for a link soon!) that will hopefully pump out great shounen-ai ish doujinshi for your fangirl needs. The first book will be Cloud-centric but who knows if we'll get it printed for the deadline? *suspenseful music plays*

Anyway if you're going to be in the tri-state area on October 8th or 9th, consider dropping by Onna! in NJ to visit us (and hopefully buy some prints). Wish us luck everyone!

Japanese word of the update: isshoukenmei (which is kind of like ganbatte) which means "(i'll/you/we'll) do (my/your/our) best!!" It means to do something with all your power. It's kinda like a more powerful form of ganbatte (which means "i'll try hard" or "good luck!"). Anyway right now lacuna 8 is isshoukenmei-ing to get this damn doujinshi done on time!!!
